Production Head

Role Purpose

To lead end-to-end production operations of the copper plant ensuring optimal output quality cost efficiency safety and compliance while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Oversee complete plant operations including smelting refining casting and downstream processes.
• Ensure achievement of daily monthly and annual production targets.
• Optimize capacity utilization and reduce process losses.

Process Optimization & Efficiency

• Drive improvements in yield recovery rates and energy efficiency.
• Implement Lean Six Sigma and cost reduction initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs like OEE downtime rejection rates and throughput.

Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to product quality standards (copper purity specifications etc.).
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to minimize defects and rejections.

Maintenance Coordination

• Work closely with maintenance team to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Minimize breakdowns and ensure high equipment availability.

Team Leadership

• Lead and manage production teams including supervisors engineers and operators.
• Drive performance management training and workforce discipline.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to EHS norms statutory compliance and safety protocols.
• Promote a zero-accident culture on the shop floor.

Cost Management

• Control production costs including manpower energy consumables and scrap.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with SCM procurement quality and sales teams for smooth operations.
• Ensure timely dispatches as per business requirements.

Qualifications

• / B.E. in Metallurgy Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• MBA (Operations) Preferred

Experience

• 12 18 years in metal/copper/aluminum manufacturing or recycling industry
• Minimum 5 years in leadership role handling plant production
