The Transport Manager will oversee and coordinate transport operations within the logistics division. This role is ideal for a highly organised self-driven individual with strong experience in route planning costing and transport efficiency ensuring reliable and compliant transport services.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate daily transport operations and deliveries
Conduct route planning and optimisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Calculate route rates fuel consumption and overall transport costing
Ensure compliance with transport legislation safety standards and company policies
Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records and oversee servicing schedules
Liaise and negotiate with suppliers clients and key stakeholders
Build and maintain strong client and supplier relationships
Prepare management reports on transport performance and costs
Identify opportunities to improve transport and logistics efficiency
Key Requirements:
Highly organised with the ability to work independently
Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within transport or logistics operations
Proven route planning experience
Strong numerical skills for costing and planning
Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance
Valid drivers licence
Must have own vehicle or the ability to acquire one
Qualifications:
Degree in Transport and Logistics or a related field
Preferred Experience:
Experience within a logistics-focused environment
Strong understanding of fleet coordination and distribution operations
Existing network within the logistics or transport sector is an added advantage
