Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager Solar to join a growing player in the renewable energy sector in Lusaka. This role is ideal for a driven professional with a strong background in solar sales and project delivery looking to play a key role in expanding commercial industrial and agricultural energy solutions across Zambia.
Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth through the development of new opportunities managing client relationships and overseeing the successful delivery of solar installation projects.
The role focuses on commercial industrial and agricultural sectors handling systems ranging from 100kW to 5MW. The successful candidate will actively engage with clients conduct site visits lead business development initiatives and coordinate internally to ensure effective execution of technical proposals and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales (60%)
Identify and develop new business opportunities within Zambia
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across key sectors
Conduct regular client visits including agricultural sites
Present tailored technical solutions and proposals
Participate in networking and relationship-building activities
Manage and track the sales pipeline and performance metrics
Operations & Branch Management (40%)
Oversee day-to-day branch operations and project execution
Coordinate installation teams and technical staff
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical and operational challenges
Liaise with internal teams for procurement logistics and planning
Ensure efficient allocation of resources across projects
Deliver projects on time within scope and to required quality standards
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Engineering Renewable Energy or related field
Proven experience in business development or sales within the renewable energy sector
Strong understanding of solar PV systems and energy solutions
Demonstrated experience managing projects and technical teams
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel regularly within Zambia
