Land Use & Environmental Of Counsel
About the Role:
The Land Use and Environmental Group is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney to play a key role in handling sophisticated large-scale development matters across California.
In this position you will take the lead on advising clients through all stages of land use and environmental processes-from early-stage planning and entitlements to regulatory approvals and litigation. You will work closely with developers municipalities and stakeholders on impactful projects while collaborating with a highly experienced legal team.
This role is ideal for a senior attorney who enjoys both advisory and litigation work and is looking for a platform to handle complex matters with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on complex land use entitlements and development strategies
- Navigate regulatory permitting and environmental review processes
- Provide strategic counsel on compliance with CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act)
- Lead and support land use and environmental litigation matters
- Draft and review legal documents memoranda and filings
- Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to overall client strategy
Key Qualifications:
- 6 years of relevant legal experience
- Extensive experience in land use and CEQA matters
- Strong knowledge of planning and zoning laws and California land use processes
- Proven experience handling land use litigation matters
- Excellent research writing and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
