Land Use & Environmental Associate Attorney

About the Role:

The firms Land Use and Environmental Group is seeking talented associates with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its growing team in Los Angeles Oakland or San Diego.

In this role you will work on sophisticated large-scale development projects across California. You will be directly involved in advising clients through the full lifecycle of development matters including land use entitlements regulatory permitting and environmental compliance.

This position offers meaningful exposure to high-impact projects and the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on complex land use entitlements and development strategies
  • Navigate regulatory permitting processes and environmental review requirements
  • Provide guidance on compliance with CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act)
  • Support and manage land use and environmental matters from inception to completion
  • Conduct legal research draft memoranda and prepare high-quality written work
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to client strategy and execution
  • (Preferred) Assist with land use litigation matters

Key Qualifications:

  • 3 5 years of relevant legal experience
  • Strong knowledge of CEQA planning and zoning laws and California land use processes
  • Excellent research writing and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Land use litigation experience is a plus
