Role Overview:
As an Economics Teacher you will be responsible for planning delivering and assessing lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will work collaboratively with the humanities department to create engaging lesson plans develop resources and support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes. Your work will ensure students develop a strong understanding of economic principles and are equipped with the skills to apply them in real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality economics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback and support.
Develop teaching resources schemes of work and lesson plans tailored to student needs.
Create a positive inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Support extra-curricular activities including economics clubs competitions and events.
Contribute to reporting assessments and preparation for examinations.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental initiatives.
Uphold the schools safeguarding health and safety and behaviour policies.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in economics or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge in economics and understanding of the curriculum.
Excellent classroom management organisational and communication skills.
Ability to inspire engage and challenge students of varying abilities.
Experience in assessment curriculum planning and tracking student progress.
