Job Summary

2-month contract role with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 2-month contract role with a local authority aimed at providing high-quality person-centered support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The position focuses on helping these individuals progress toward their Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes. The role involves working across community center-based and educational settings to promote independence improve communication skills build confidence and support inclusion within local networks and services.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored outcome-focused interventions for young people with learning disabilities autism sensory needs and physical disabilities in line with EHCP outcomes.
  • Support SEND Progression Mentors in key working duties including preparing and delivering structured educational and progression-focused activities.
  • Provide positive behavioral emotional and practical support using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs including autism learning disabilities sensory impairments physical disabilities or behaviors of concern.
  • Experience delivering group and one-to-one sessions linked to learning social development or independence skills.
  • Experience supporting people in community and/or center-based disability services.
  • Experience using or contributing to a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach.
  • Demonstrable experience working in diverse and multicultural environments.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • Relevant Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care Education Support Work or equivalent experience.

  • Working hours: 22.5 hours per week

  • Enhanced DBS required.
  • Bi-weekly payment schedule.
