The Senior Director Talent and Organization Development is accountable for budgets performance and results of the Talent and Organization Development team across departments/locations. The role possesses extensive knowledge of various talent management and career development programs. The role involves building and leading teams providing guidance and coaching and executing HR strategies to support the overall business objectives. The role closely partners with senior leadership to address complex and important Talent and Organization Development issues of high significance to the company. The role has expertise in leading teams for the improvement of processes and programs analyzing the long-term impact of new and anticipated strategies and contributing to ensuring a compliant and high-performance work environment.
ResponsibilitiesWhat youll do...
- Leads designs and oversees the implementation of various talent management programs like organizational effectiveness assessment and improvement career frameworks career and leadership development talent assessment performance management workforce and succession planning organization design and organizational transformation and culture change.
- Partners with the executive team to ensure alignment between the organizations people and capabilities with the overall business strategy. Leads delivers mentors and coaches all group & divisional resources in delivering the organizations culture training. Drives change management to ensure business standards are adopted and foster an inclusive culture by creating a conducive environment for people development collaboration and learning.
- Manages leadership succession plans and support for career paths identifies gaps in the talent pipeline and ensures plans are in place to address these gaps to achieve the organizational business and talent objectives.
- Collaborates extensively with Talent Acquisition leadership to enable the creation and understanding of key talent pools (high potentials diverse critical role successors) and actively monitors engagement and development. Drives internal movement using succession and development plans as a guide.
- Leads projects which involve identifying innovative solutions and initiatives for novel abstract problems pertinent to a range of Talent and Organization Development subjects and establish new strategies processes and programs after a thorough review of their expected long-term impact. Leads associated technical and business interactions with top management other HR teams as well as external vendors/ consultants.
- Oversees the development of relevant standards procedures and reporting templates and oversees their consistent execution to ensure efficient and effective experiences. Analyzes metrics around talent management programs and other key initiatives around employee engagement talent retention leadership program utilization leadership pipeline succession readiness etc. to identify trends potential areas of improvement and root causes to make appropriate modifications to policies and programs.
- Takes ownership of budgets across departments under jurisdiction regularly monitors the same against actual performance and leads the development of strategies to adjust courses of action in case of variance to ensure effectiveness and cost efficiency of all talent development programs.
- Oversees regular review of policies and procedures related to talent management programs and activities to identify continuous improvement opportunities in line with business strategies and ensures their compliance with all relevant federal state and local laws.
- Ensures the maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data related to Talent and Organization Development matters including succession planning information organizational development interventions career development plans leadership development data etc.
- Performs talent management responsibilities including staffing performance discipline pay decisions team development and other personnel actions.
QualificationsYoull have...
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree (preferred) in Human Resources Organizational Development or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of work experience with a Masters degree or 12 years of work experience with a Bachelors degree preferably in Talent and Organization Development or a related field with some experience in a leadership role
Licenses and Certifications:
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR) (Preferred)
- Project Management Professional Certification (Preferred)
Work Requirements:
- Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping standing climbing walking etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
