- Oversee all aspects of plant operations including production scheduling resource allocation and workflow optimization.
- Develop and execute operational plans to meet production targets quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and operators fostering a culture of accountability safety and continuous improvement.
- Implement and monitor KPIs related to OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) throughput yield and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with local and international health safety environmental (HSE) and quality regulations.
- Drive lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste improve efficiency and lower operational costs.
- Collaborate with engineering maintenance supply chain and quality teams to resolve operational issues and support process innovation.
- Manage capital projects and equipment upgrades in alignment with long-term operational strategy.
- Conduct regular performance reviews identify skill gaps and lead training and development programs.
- Report operational performance and strategic insights to senior leadership on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Operations Management Industrial Technology or a related field; MBA or advanced certification is a plus.
- 25 years of progressive experience in plant or operations management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record in improving production efficiency reducing downtime and achieving cost savings.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing Six Sigma ISO standards and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Experience with production planning and scheduling systems (e.g. ERP MES).
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and drive performance.
- Excellent problem-solving analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is highly desirable given the regional context.
- Willingness to travel within Central Africa and work in a field-based operational environment.
- Familiarity with technology-driven manufacturing processes and automation systems is advantageous.
