- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for raw materials work-in-progress and finished goods across multiple project sites in Central Africa.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with financial records ensuring timely resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly inventory valuation reports in compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
- Collaborate with procurement warehouse and logistics teams to ensure data accuracy and process alignment across inventory lifecycle stages.
- Monitor inventory aging obsolescence and write-downs and recommend corrective actions to minimize financial exposure.
- Support the preparation of audit documentation and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems including ERP integration and digital reporting dashboards.
- Provide financial insights and KPIs related to inventory turnover carrying costs and stock efficiency to project management.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations including export controls and environmental reporting standards.
- Assist in the development and documentation of internal controls for inventory management and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA ACCA or CFA certification is highly desirable.
- 25 years of progressive experience in inventory accounting preferably in mining manufacturing or natural resources sectors.
- Proven experience with ERP systems such as SAP Oracle or similar platforms with strong data management and reporting capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting standards with demonstrated experience in inventory valuation and cost accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel including advanced functions pivot tables and data visualization.
- Excellent attention to detail organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in complex multi-site operations in emerging markets or remote locations (Central Africa preferred).
