SENIOR APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER / SER (HYBRID LISBON)
Portuguese company hires for hybrid position
Location: LisbonPortugal
Only candidates already basedin Portugal will be considered

Your Role
As a Senior Application Support Engineer / SRE youwill be responsible for ensuring service continuity performance andreliability of applications running in Linux-based and cloudenvironments.
You will act as a key player in incident managementsystem optimization automation and operational excellence workingclosely with development infrastructure and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Application &Platform Support
- Provide functional and technical support to users and internal teams
- Manage incidents crisis calls and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Handle requests changes and incident tracking via ServiceNow
- Monitor application performance and infrastructure health
- Install configure and troubleshoot applications and environments
- Support design and validation of new environments
- Participate in migration and standardization initiatives
Operational Excellence
- Perform technical analysis planning and execution of tasks
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and ITIL best practices
- Conduct capacity planning and environment validation
- Review and optimize scripts configurations and processes
- Define and support non-functional requirements
- Drive initiatives to reduce operational overhead and improve reliability
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with:
- RedHat Linux
- IT Infrastructure & Application Support
- Knowledge of:
- Ansible Python
- Application Performance Monitoring (Dynatrace preferred)
- Cloud & Containers:
- Kubernetes OpenShift Docker
- AWS / Azure / IBM Cloud
- Helm HashiCorp Vault ArgoCD
- CI/CD & Automation:
- Terraform Jenkins Git / GitLab
- Familiarity with:
- Observability and performance tuning
Profile
- 10 years of experience in application support or similar roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- High attention to detail and resilience under pressure
- Proactive approach to anticipating issues and driving improvements
