Position: Technical Service Manager.
Location: Barranquilla Colombia.

The incumbent is responsible for the service team reporting to the Managing Director. This position is accountable for all aspects of managing technical service initiatives within the geographical area and providing technical support and services to customers in both Marine and Diesel business units. The role included is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities
Provide support to the service centers.
Develop and ensure that customer service policies structure and standards are understood and maintained.
Communicate directly with customers on service matters to provide technical advice and support.
Assist customers in diagnosing problems and provide solutions to customer issues
Manage field activities for technical service repairs and maintenance providing support and guidance.
Facilitate employee development through regular and constructive feedback sessions and coaching/training with respect to their career aspirations.
Meet regularly with customers to discuss any issues and future service requirements
Hold regular department meetings to discuss service jobs forecasts budgets and strategies using good management skills to motivate and develop the team.
Organize staff training as required and promote training opportunities for customers.
Ensure Quality Assurance documentation requirements are followed.
Cultivate and maintain long-term customer service relationships.
Travel to visit key account customers.
Position Requirements
Education with a degree in Marine Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
Bilingual (Spanish and English).
5 years of experience and good knowledge of workshop environment for 4-stroke Diesel engines with some knowledge of 2-stroke diesel engines.
10 years of experience in the Marine industry.
Experience with both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: Marine Engineering certification preferred not necessary.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to quickly and effectively respond to customer needs.
Proven ability to multitask and take initiative for the delivery of multiple technical programs.
Must be familiar with engineering drawings and schematics.
After-sales support experience required.
Experience working in a global organization.
Proficient in computer use e.g. MS Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel internationally.
