Job Summary

Reporting to the SHE Manager you will ensure that all contract activities onsite comply with the Anglo Contractor Management procedures.

Key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Manage the Contractor Management Plan including Authority to Work and Permit to Work systems.
  • Ensure contractor processes are correctly implemented and adhered to across site operations.
  • Conduct regular surface and underground inspections to verify contractor compliance.
  • Confirm equipment used by contractors is safe maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Engage directly with contractors to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Lead proactive safety initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver safety presentations and briefings to maintain awareness.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve contractor management practices.
  • Provide timely feedback on compliance issues and required corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections contractor performance and compliance.
  • Support investigations and follow-up actions related to contractor safety incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align contractor activities with operational priorities.

Qualifications :

To be successful in the role you will have to have the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within the coal mining industry
  • S123 and G2
  • Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application
  • Strong business acumen with in-depth knowledge of contract management including financial management people management and risk management
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy-in from key stakeholders
  • An ability to identify lead and develop talent within the business
  • An intermediate level of strategic thinking planning and problem solving ability
  • An understanding of key safety risks and ways to mitigate these
  • Underground Mining Experience

  • Full-time permanent position based at Aquila Mine Middlemount
  • Monday to Friday site role with 9-day fortnight available (flexible work)
