Position Summary
The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation for our customers. Technicians work in a fast-paced service environment performing routine maintenance inspections and repairs while maintaining high standards of quality efficiency and customer satisfaction.
At Precision Tune Auto Care technicians play a key role in delivering trusted automotive service while supporting the store team in achieving operational and sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Service & Repairs
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes tire rotations fluid services and filter replacements
Conduct vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs
Diagnose mechanical issues using proper tools and diagnostic equipment
Complete brake services suspension repairs and other automotive repairs as required
Ensure all repairs meet Precision Tune standards for safety and quality
Inspections & Recommendations
Perform thorough vehicle inspections during each service
Identify potential maintenance needs or safety concerns
Communicate recommended repairs clearly to the service advisor or manager
Productivity & Efficiency
Maintain strong technician productivity and efficiency levels
Complete services within established labor times
Maintain an organized and safe work environment
Customer Experience
Support the team in delivering excellent customer service
Take pride in the quality of work performed on every vehicle
Ensure vehicles are clean and properly handled during service
Shop Maintenance & Safety
Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
Maintain clean work areas and properly care for shop equipment
Follow environmental and waste disposal guidelines
Qualifications
Previous automotive repair experience preferred
Ability to perform routine maintenance and light mechanical repairs
Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Valid drivers license
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic and team-first attitude
Preferred Skills
ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with brake systems suspension and steering components
Ability to use digital inspection tools and shop management software
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise heat and automotive fluids
