Lead Low Voltage Technician Commercial Cabling (Hospital Environment)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to support structured cabling installations in a hospital environment. This individual will lead field installation activities while coordinating with the General Contractor (GC) and other trades to ensure cabling infrastructure is installed safely efficiently and according to project specifications.
The Lead Technician will be responsible for reading prints planning cable pathways and overseeing installation of CAT5e/CAT6 structured cabling systems while ensuring work is completed to industry standards and project timelines.
This role requires strong technical ability leadership in the field and the ability to work professionally in a live healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Coordination

Act as the lead technician on-site coordinating daily activities with the General Contractor (GC) and project leadership.

Review project drawings and plan cable pathways and installation strategy.

Ensure installation work follows project specifications safety standards and hospital protocols.

Communicate progress challenges and field updates to project management.
Structured Cabling Installation

Install and route CAT5e/CAT6 structured cabling systems.
-
Pull cable through conduit cable tray walls and ceiling pathways.
-
Perform cable fishing pathway installation and cable management.
-
Install and secure J-hooks cable supports and other infrastructure components.

Maintain proper labeling routing and organization of installed cabling.
Quality & Safety
-
Ensure installations meet industry best practices and quality standards.
-
Maintain clean and organized work areas particularly within active healthcare environments.

Follow all site safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
-
3 years of experience in commercial structured cabling installations.
-
Experience installing CAT5e/CAT6 network cabling systems.
-
Ability to read construction drawings blueprints and cable pathway layouts.
-
Experience working in commercial construction environments.

Strong understanding of cable routing pathway planning and infrastructure installation.
-
Comfortable working above ceilings inside walls and in conduit pathways.
-
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Certifications
Work Environment

Work performed primarily in a hospital / healthcare facility.
-
May require working in ceilings equipment rooms and active construction areas.

Ability to lift equipment and materials and work on ladders or lifts as needed.
