This contract position offers an on-site opportunity to provide essential psychiatric care and support to our diverse patient population.
As a Locum Psychiatry physician you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions ensuring the highest standard of care. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to develop treatment plans and facilitate comprehensive patient evaluations. This role is integral to our commitment to promoting mental wellness and enhancing the overall quality of care in our community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe and manage medications as necessary
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for patients in acute distress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Rhode Island
- Experience in psychiatric practice or residency training preferred
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
Schedule: Monday-Friday 40-hour workweeks
No call requirement
High-acuity ambulatory setting
Patient Population: Ages 18
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
