Reporting & Collaboration
Direct Manager: School Leader or Assistant School Leader responsible for school culture systems and student outcomes.
Direct Reports: None
Key Collaborators: Assistant School Leaders teachers counselors Special Education staff and other school-based support personnel responsible for ensuring students can fully access instruction.
Autonomy & Decision Making
This role supports the execution of schoolwide behavior systems and student behavior interventions aligned to MTSS structures. The Behavior Climate Specialist implements established behavior expectations reinforces school culture systems and provides targeted student support.
Decisions related to major disciplinary actions suspension decisions and schoolwide policy changes remain with the School Leader and Assistant School Leader.
Inputs: What will I be doing in my day to day work
School Culture & Climate
Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the school day to reinforce behavior expectations.
Support consistent implementation of schoolwide culture systems.
Monitor hallways transitions and common spaces to ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
Reinforce positive student behavior and character development aligned to school values.
Student Behavior Support
Provide targeted behavioral coaching to students requiring additional support.
Support students in reflecting on behavioral choices and developing strategies to improve behavior.
Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans aligned to MTSS structures.
Support students assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS) to ensure behavioral reflection and academic engagement.
Behavior Systems & Data
Monitor and analyze behavior data to identify patterns and inform interventions.
Maintain accurate records of student behavior incidents interventions and family communication.
Partner with school leadership to ensure consistent implementation of behavior systems.
Collaboration & Student Support
Partner with teachers to reinforce behavior expectations and provide strategies for supporting students.
Collaborate with counselors Special Education teams and leadership to coordinate supports.
Communicate with families regarding student behavior and progress when appropriate.
Participate in MTSS or student support team meetings

Qualifications :
What you bring to the table:
Required
Bachelors degree in education psychology social work or special education
2 years of classroom teaching experience
Experience supporting students with behavioral or social-emotional needs
Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and trauma-informed practices
Experience implementing MTSS PBIS restorative practices or SEL frameworks
Ability to design and monitor behavior intervention plans
Preferred
Background in special education or student support services
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or de-escalation training
Experience working in high-performing K12 school environments
State certification in a related field

The salary range is $55000 to $70000.
