Job Description:

Please note that this is a Bangkok based role the incumbent is employed by Zuellig Pharma but works exclusively on behalf of Ipsen.

The Head of Sales is a senior commercial leader accountable for driving sales performance and a key contributor to overall business results across the assigned portfolio. This role leads the sales organization to deliver sustainable revenue growth while contributing strategic insights to broader commercial planning and decision-making.

Beyond execution excellence the Head of Sales plays an active role in shaping go-to-market strategies strengthening commercial capabilities and ensuring disciplined compliant and high-impact field operations. Working closely with cross-functional leaders this role helps translate strategic priorities into effective sales execution that drives long-term business success.

Main Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Revenue Delivery

  • Accountable for achieving annual sales targets and market share growth.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly sales performance reviews identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Ensure disciplined forecast management and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Drive territory planning segmentation and targeting strategies to maximize coverage and productivity.

Commercial Strategy Contribution

  • Contribute to annual commercial planning and long-range business discussions.
  • Provide strong field insights and competitive intelligence to inform portfolio and investment decisions.
  • Support successful product launches through effective sales readiness and execution.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment between brand strategy and field deployment.

Sales Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead coach and develop Sales Managers and field teams to build a high-performance culture.
  • Establish clear accountability frameworks and performance standards.
  • Develop succession pipelines and strengthen leadership bench strength.
  • Foster engagement and retention of top-performing sales talent.

Field Force Effectiveness & Operational Excellence

  • Optimize territory alignment and resource deployment.
  • Drive CRM adoption and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor KPIs including productivity call quality and customer impact.
  • Continuously improve sales processes to enhance efficiency and ROI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Marketing Medical Market Access Finance and Supply Chain to ensure aligned execution.
  • Provide field perspective to pricing access and promotional discussions.
  • Support demand planning through accurate forecasting and field intelligence.
  • Act as a key commercial voice in leadership discussions.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with local regulations industry codes and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of ethical promotion and integrity.
  • Maintain audit readiness and proactive risk management within the sales organization.

Financial & Budget Accountability

  • Own sales budget and control promotional spend.
  • Monitor ROI of sales activities and initiatives.
  • Contribute to long-range planning and annual operating plans.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 12 years pharmaceutical industry experience with 5 years in sales leadership role
  • Proven track record of driving sustained sales growth
  • Experience in product launches and competitive market environments
  • Exposure to cross-functional commercial planning processes
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry market dynamics and regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales reporting tool
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels including executive and C-level.
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy Life Sciences Business or related field.
  • An MBA is a plus.
