Position: DevOps Engineer - AWS & Platform Engineering
Location: Onsite- Dallas TX (Need Local)
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to design build and operate scalable AWS infrastructure while driving CI/CD pipelines IaC and security best practices. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a hands-on engineer who thrives in both Windows and Linux environments and can mentor junior engineers.
Must-Have Skills (Required)- 5 years of Platform Engineering DevOps or SRE experience
- 4 years hands-on AWS designing and operating scalable highly available infrastructure
- 4 years Infrastructure as Code (IaC) AWS CDK CloudFormation and/or Terraform/OpenTofu
- 5 Framework deploying and applications in cloud environments
- Strong Windows and Linux server administration integration with cloud platforms
- Proven experience designing and implementing GitLab CI/CD pipelines applications
- Experience with Chef configuration management for Windows and Linux servers
- Strong cloud networking fundamentals TCP/IP DNS load balancing firewall concepts
- Solid security best practices applied across infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools New Relic CloudWatch Prometheus
- Strong scripting skills PowerShell Python Bash and/or Ruby
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- PowerShell and Python scripting advanced level
- Ruby specifically for Chef cookbook development
- Docker and Kubernetes containerization and orchestration
- Deep experience with AWS EC2 AutoScaling WarmPools AMI generation
- Windows Server build and image creation Chocolatey Packer IIS
- AWS and/or GCP certifications
- Experience with OpenTofu as Terraform alternative
