As Torontos premier location for experiencing sustainable horticulture TBG offers visitors the opportunity to explore their role as stewards of the environment. With free admission and an annual attendance of 300000 visitors per year TBG invites everyone to engage with nature offering a dynamic year-round calendar of events community tours eco markets and more.

TBGs educational programs cater to children families and adults of all experience levels drawing more than 17000 participants each year. From gardening and conservation to sustainability wellness and creativity TBG provides a diverse range of learning opportunities.

TBG is a hub for nature enthusiasts with 2900 members 130 dedicated volunteers and 30 member organizations all contributing to a growing and passionate network of nature lovers.

When fully developed its 35-acre site will welcome over 1 million visitors annually.

Position Overview

TheMarketing Internwill support the Marketing Department in enhancing TBGs digital presence and community engagement across multiple platformsandin person. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional passionate about plants sustainability and storytelling through digital media.

Youllgain hands-on experience indigital content creation social media marketing e-commerceanalytics andevent promotionand management contributing to initiatives that help grow awareness visitation and support for the Garden.

Key Responsibilities

Digital & Social Media Marketing

  • Assistin creating engaging content across social media channels (Instagram Facebook LinkedIn).
  • Capture and edit photos and short videos of gardens programs andspecial events.
  • Support social media campaigns promoting retail membership and programming.
  • Monitor community engagement and respond to comments and messages.

Content Creation

  • Contribute ideas and content as needed for TBGs website blog and weekly e-newsletters.
  • Assistwith photography and videography toshowcaseseasonal beauty volunteers and behind-the-scenes stories.
  • Write short engaging copy that aligns with TBGs voice and mission.

E-Commerce & Retail Support

  • Assistwith managing online marketing for the Garden Shop including tracking online sales and weekly data analytics
  • Support seasonal marketing forpop-up retail initiatives.

Data & Analytics

  • Track and report on social media website and email marketing performance using analytics tools.
  • Help interpret data toidentifytrends and opportunities for growth and engagement.

EventManagement andMarketing

  • Support digital and on-site promotion forspecial events concerts and educational programs.
  • Assistwith event-day photography live social coverage and post-event content.
  • Support the planning and execution of seasonal events including outdoor concerts and Torontos largest tour of private gardens.

General Administrative Support

  • Helpmaintainthe digital content archive (photos videos campaign assets).
  • Support marketing project coordination and communications with internal teams.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program inMarketing Communications Digital Media or a related field.
  • Strong interest inplants gardening naturewellnessand sustainability.
  • Experience withsocial media platformsand digital tools (e.g. Canva Meta Business Suite Google Analytics Constant Contact).
  • Photography and/or video editing skills (considered an asset)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Organized collaborative enthusiastic and eager to learn in a small creative environment.
