Job Title: Safety Clerk
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety incidents including injuries near-misses and property damage
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate and track safety training for employees including scheduling and maintaining training records
- Communicate safety updates and reminders to employees through various channels such as email bulletin boards and safety meetings
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions
- Keep abreast of industry safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance
- Assist in the investigation of safety incidents and provide recommendations for prevention in the future
- Maintain and order safety supplies and equipment as needed
- Prepare and submit safety reports to management on a regular basis
- Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies regarding safety compliance and inspections
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in occupational health and safety is a plus
- 2 years of experience in a similar role preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Physical ability to perform safety inspections and lift up to 50 pounds if needed
