Job Description Summary
The Procurement Manager (PPLM) - HVDC will be fully responsible to drive the procurement and logistics function of HVDC project in India aligning with SQDC (Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost) deliverables by collaborating with sourcing / procurement / logistics team members and cross functional teams. By applying procurement policy serves as interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets and have in-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. As PPLM (Project Procurement and Logistics Manager) you will have in-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Key Responsibilities:
Execution
Own project procurement and logistics budget and work with sourcing and procurement leaders to achieve procurement objectives of HVDC project.
Leads follow-up activities for long-lead critical purchase orders (POs) till delivery at site.
Manage supplier relation throughout PO execution.
Support Sourcing function Vendor follow up Inventory Management & Logistics.
Ensure Margin improvement thru continuous Bundle buyCost out logistics optimization Negotiation & new Initiative according to Industry benchmarks and standards.
Drive PO issued on time by liaison with Buyer/Engineer/Project Manager/Project Controller.
Manage the Procurement/Fulfilment functions within the HVDC project which include purchase order release acknowledgement monitoring goods and documentation delivery and make receipt of material in ERP.
Plan strategize and execute appropriate / optimized logistics network / routing vendor management for both domestic and import items to ensure material is delivered at the most optimized time and cost.
Ensure suppliers meet all contractual requirements by liaison with Buyer.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks onMaterial availability to meet Project timeline Cost outs & SCM support.
Ensure Goods delivery on time and on quality by working closely with engineering SQE and Expeditor and conduct mitigation plan to avoid delay and eliminate LD exposure in case of delay by liaison with expeditor and coordinate with internal / external stakeholders for escalation cases.
Support the B2P process through ensuring invoices are payable after alignment with suppliers internal stakeholders and following internal processes.
Manage OTR-ITO feedback timely in terms of costs delivery vendor list etc.
Leads discussions with suppliers during execution regarding claims scope changes and related matters in coordination with Project Teams.
Understand the GE VERNOVA strategy and support its implementation towards customers partners suppliers and other GE VERNOVA employees.
Strategy
Work closely with the procurement regional leader and project management team to help develop procurement and logistics strategy for the assigned site/P&L in order to achieve variable cost productivity cash flow and controllership goals
Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction through contract negotiation process changes and implementation of sustainable cost controls including working with Finance to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations to the general ledger.
Create strategies to meet business targets and customer needs including improving procurement processes and optimizing sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing.
Team with engineering teams to identify and implement direct material productivity ideas to minimize total cost.
Team with logistics and commercial teams to ensure adequate regional capacities exist to minimize transportation costs and meet localization requirements.
Aligning closely with global commodity leaders to identify and assess supplier capabilities and measure and manage supplier performance.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Degree Level or equivalent in Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
Prior global procurement experience preferably with HVDC projects valued over 50 M$.
Good Communication Skills (Fluent English Spoken and written).
Experience in SAP ERP system.
Commercial awareness with demonstrated ability to negotiate variation settlements in complex projects.
Willing to travel extensively within India and overseas for meetings for HQ team.
Desired Characteristics:
Technical knowledge in electrical grids and ideally power electronics / HVDC will be an advantage.
Ability to work on multiple tasks whilst maintaining accuracy within set time limits.
