JOB DESCRIPTION: Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education Program for students withdisabilities whose IEP team has determined that in order to prevent substantial regression and reducerecoupment times the students require a longer year. Services are based on individual needs toaddress IEP goals and objectives. To provide direct instruction in the area of reading for identifiedgroups and individual students with an emphasis on emergent beginning and transitional RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Schedule and provide specialized reading services for students on an Individualized Education Program.2. Consult and collaborate with other ESY service providers as needed.3. Communicate student progress based on data collected to parents/guardians and school personnel.4. Deliver effective instruction and fulfill all professional responsibilities5. Willingness to be trained in and use positive behavior support strategies.6. Plan and implement sequential learning experiences for students using a variety of instructional strategiesconsistent with the Districts instructional goals.7. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching of reading child growth and developmenteffective instructional strategies learning and assessment and diagnosis and research related to learningand students needing to learn to read.8. Complete any other duty or assignments as directed by the Director of Special Education/ESY
