Job Description
Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Payroll professional to support and oversee the end-to-end processing of U.S. and Canada payrolls utilizing ADP GlobalView and Workday. This role ensures accurate compliant and timely payroll delivery while serving as a key resource for payroll analysis system coordination and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute weekly and biweekly payroll processing for U.S. and Canada employees using ADP GlobalView and Workday.
- Ensure accurate compensation for new hires terminations salary changes and other employee lifecycle events.
- Process complex payroll transactions including commissions bonuses stock compensation and other exception payments.
- Coordinate validate and consolidate payroll input files for system uploads.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies trends and compliance risks prior to payroll finalization.
- Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries providing clear and detailed responses in a timely manner.
- Support audits reporting requirements and internal controls related to payroll processing.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR Finance and Benefits teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency accuracy and controls.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive payroll experience including U.S. and/or Canada payroll processing.
- Hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView and Workday.
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
- Experience managing payroll in a large multi-state environment.
- Experience supporting SOX controls or payroll audits.
