We are seeking a highly experienced Accounting Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with deep expertise in insurance accounting and financial systems. This role bridges Accounting Insurance Operations and IT to drive process optimization system enhancements and data integrity across finance and insurance platforms.
The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of statutory accounting reinsurance regulatory reporting and hands-on experience with ERP and insurance policy/claims systems.
Partner with Accounting Finance Underwriting Claims Actuarial and Billing teams to gather and document requirements.
Analyze insurance workflows including:
Policy administration
Premium billing
Claims accounting
Commission processing
Reinsurance settlements (ceded & assumed)
Translate requirements into:
Process maps
Functional specifications
User stories
Acceptance criteria
Support implementation and enhancement of ERP and insurance systems such as:
SAP FI/CO
Oracle Cloud
Guidewire (Billing Policy Claims)
Duck Creek
Design and validate integrations between policy billing claims and general ledger systems.
Lead SIT and UAT coordination defect management and change control processes.
Optimize accounting processes for:
Premium recognition
Unearned Premium Reserves (UPR)
Loss reserves & IBNR
Claims payments
Commission accounting
Implement reinsurance accounting logic:
Treaty & facultative
Proportional & non-proportional
Bordereaux & settlements
Collaborate with Actuarial and Underwriting on:
Loss ratio
Combined ratio
Reserve reporting
Ensure reconciliation between sub-ledgers and General Ledger.
Develop dashboards and KPIs such as:
Written vs. earned premium
Loss & LAE
Expense ratios
Support statutory reporting including:
NAIC Statements
Schedule P
Schedule F
Ensure adherence to:
GAAP
Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
SOX
State insurance regulations
Design and maintain internal controls audit documentation and data lineage artifacts.
Act as liaison between Accounting IT Underwriting Claims Actuarial and Compliance.
Facilitate workshops sprint planning sessions and stakeholder reviews.
Align technical solutions with financial and regulatory requirements.
