Overview:

The Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) is seeking an AVPI Engagement and Projects Lead to support its growing activities in Vietnam. This position is based at the AVPI Representative Office in Hanoi and is hosted within RMIT Universitys Representative Office in Vietnam.

We are seeking candidates with strengths in stakeholder engagement and project coordination who enjoy working across organisations and supporting initiatives that bring together government industry and academic partners. Experience in collaborative or internationally focused environments will be highly regarded.

POSITION SUMMARY

The AVPI Engagement and Projects Lead contributes to advancing the work of the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) in Vietnam by supporting the planning and delivery of projects and engagement initiatives aligned with the Institutes strategic priorities. The role plays an important part in enabling AVPI activities and programs that foster collaboration knowledge exchange and meaningful connections between Australia and Vietnam. Working across a dynamic and internationally connected environment the position supports the effective operation and growing impact of the AVPI Representative Office in Vietnam.

Key Accountabilities summary

  • Under broad direction identify build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to support the development and impact of the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) in Vietnam and the Representative Office of RMIT University in Vietnam.
  • Working closely with the Head Hanoi Industry and Innovation Hub proactively expand the AVPI Knowledge Partner network in Vietnam engaging with organisations across business government academia and the non-profit sector that share an interest in Australia-Vietnam strategic engagement and trade and investment.
  • Plan research coordinate and deliver strategic projects that strengthen the AVPIs policy influence and support the objectives of the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
  • Support the planning and delivery of strategic events working closely with colleagues and partners across Vietnam and Australia including undertaking travel where required to support event delivery in different locations.
  • Communicate effectively between a wide variety of stakeholders individuals and team members.
  • Track project and event stakeholders and business development leads using Salesforce.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as agreed with the Head Hanoi Industry and Innovation Hub.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated success in engaging with a broad range of stakeholders with an ability to build strong strategic relationships and generate potential partner leads for mutual benefit.
  • Experience leading strategic projects including working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff at all levels of the University to achieve agreed outcomes and targets.
  • Self-motivated and proactive team members with positive solutions-focused approach to supporting team and project outcomes.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to ensure operational needs meet strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with broad direction as well as collaboratively in a team environment including working effectively in a cross-cultural context.
  • For this role the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 6.5 (or equivalent as outlined in the Recruitment Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
