What youll do

  • Service Centre Cost Recovery and Margin Protection:Own and continuously improve service centre recovery models including labour overhead freight and burden recovery across Australia. Analyze under and over-recovery and partner with operations to address root causes. Ensure recovery mechanisms are transparent auditable and aligned with pricing and commercial frameworks.

  • Operations Finance Partnering:Act as the strategic finance business partner to service centre leaders providing insight into cost drivers productivity utilisation and profitability. Support operational decision-making through scenario modelling make/buy analysis and capacity planning. Bridge operations commercial finance and FP&A to ensure alignment between execution recovery and planning assumptions.

  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:Deliver regular operational finance reporting including recovery performance productivity metrics utilisation and variance analysis. Support weekly and monthly operations performance reviews with clear actionable insights. Leverage standard Operations Finance reporting aligned to the Finance Process Taxonomy.

  • Continuous Improvement LEAN and Automation:Apply LEAN and continuous improvement methodologies to simplify recovery processes and eliminate waste. Identify and deliver automation opportunities within ERP and related reporting tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy. Partner with offshore shared service centres to standardise processes clarify ownership and improve service levels.

  • Systems Data and Change Management:Act as a key finance SME for service centre recovery processes within SAP including transition to S/4HANA. Ensure data integrity across operational time-writing and cost allocation inputs. Lead finance change impacts associated with system enhancements process changes or operating model shifts.

  • Governance Control and Alignment with CoEs:Ensure recovery processes comply with internal control frameworks policies and audit requirements. Support internal and external audits relating to cost accounting recoveries and operational finance processes. Maintain clear documentation of recovery methodologies and assumptions.

What youll bring


Must-haves:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting engineering or business

  • Strong experience in Operations Finance cost accounting or service/manufacturing environments

  • Demonstrated expertise in service centre cost recovery productivity analysis and operational performance

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA including cost centres internal orders allocations and reporting

Nice-to-haves:

  • Professional qualification (CA CPA or CIMA)

  • Proven experience in continuous improvement (LEAN) and process optimisation

  • Experience working with offshore and matrix operating models

  • Change management capability with ability to influence operational and non-finance stakeholders
