Job Summary

As the Head of Finance Financial Planning & Analysis you will drive lead influence and own the end-to-end planning performance and advising on all financial aspects across Qantas Loyalty with a commercial and strategic leadership focus. This role will ensure appropriate structures rhythms initiatives and processes are in place to meet the delivery of BU objectives requirements and targets. 

You will lead the process of opportunity development within Loyalty and will also have significant influence over the creation and delivery of the strategy as well as its financial targets with the Loyalty LT GMC and the Board. You will focus on financial commercial stewardship and risk management stakeholder management people management cash flow management and continuous improvement. This role also has management over the optimisation of the operating cost base and this is critical to ensuring the cost base of Qantas Loyalty is optimised for growth of the business at all times.  This role involves leading a team of finance professionals ensuring the delivery of key people management accountabilities aligned with the Qantas Loyalty Balance Scorecard. 

You will also have responsibility for leading maintaining and managing divisional interactions with Group Finance Investor Relations External Auditors and the Centre of Finance Excellence (CoFE) including fostering a strong collaborative relationship with the CoFE and Group Finance teams. Periodically this position may act as the Deputy CFO serving as the delegate for the Divisional CFO.

What youll bring to the role: 

  • 10-15 years experience in similar finance roles 
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and post graduate qualifications (e.g. CPA/CA)
  • Extensive experience working in multiple areas of Finance
  • Extensive experience working with diversified revenue streams with unique business drivers
  • Extensive experience working with other areas of the business through projects ; and/or experience in non-Finance roles 
  • Highly developed people management skills and experience managing people managers 
  • Strong experience leading teams in a changing environment 
  • Experience owning developing and executing a Business Unit level strategy 
  • Strong ability to maintain and enhance internal and external networks 
  • Highly experienced with external stakeholder management including regulatory bodies
