Job Summary

Northeastern Universitys Seattle Campus seeks a motivated and adaptable individual to serve as an Experiential Living Coordinator for the Summer A and Summer B terms. Reporting to the Associate Director of Global Campus Programming working directly with Northeasterns Global Experience Office (GEO) and in daily collaboration with Seattle campus teams and housing provider this position will support and engage Northeastern undergraduate cohorts attending study away/residency programs in Seattle. Working in collaboration with staff across the Seattle Campus GEO the Office of the Chancellor and other University offices they will help plan coordinate and engage students in undergraduate mobility program opportunities aligned with campus and University visions including university-wide programs. Incorporating the Universitys mission core values and DEI initiatives the Coordinator demonstrates a high-level of cultural competency.

The Experiential Learning Coordinator supports students on study away programs at the Seattle campus by serving as one of the main points of contact for students thinking through a broad array of services required to provide an optimal learner experience and occasionally accompanying students to program-related events. The Coordinator will assist in documenting student experiences costs associated with programming and experiential program development. This is a live-in role with required duty shifts during which the Coordinator will be the first point of contact for time-sensitive student concerns.

The target start date for this role is April 20 2026 with an end date of August 21 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires patience flexibility assertiveness diplomacy and self-initiative as well as experience living in an environment where folks are learners not only academically but also in life skills.

Specific qualifications include:

  • Eligibility to work at Northeastern University

  • Intercultural sensitivity/global awareness

  • Willingness to confront potentially challenging situations and ability to manage response

  • Proven leadership and consensus-building experience

  • Ability to supervise college students in diverse environments (Classroom Transit Residence Museum Etc.)

  • Experience working or living in a student-centric environment preferred

  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment

  • Proven high levels of professionalism

  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required (2-3 times per week)

  • Bachelors Degree preferred; recent college graduates and graduate-level students encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities


Student Programming

  • Partner with Global Experience Office Seattle campus Office of the Chancellor academic college and university staff to develop and operationalize programming on the Seattle campus.

  • Provide direct support and integration between the campus and GEO teams to promote student engagement.

  • Participate in student-focused orientations move-in and move-out.

  • Plan and execute social and cultural programming and track related expenses under supervision of the Associate Director.

  • Attend cocurricular activities with students and provide feedback to partnerships team.

  • Develop marketing materials (flyers newsletters Teams chats etc.) to promote programming to students.

Student Support Safety & Incident Response

  • Act as safety liaison with Campus GEO and NU by carrying NU cell phone while on duty shift and escalating incidents in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the safety and well-being of the participants during assigned shift.

  • Serve as a primary contact for program participants.

  • Complete incident reports and other documentation as required.

  • Exercise excellent judgment in student supervision emergency response and policy interpretation and implementation.

Community Building & Cultural Immersion

  • Facilitate roommate agreements one-on-one meetings with students and conflict mediations.

  • Assist students with cultural immersion and adjusting to a new campus environment.

  • Be an ambassador for Northeastern University; exhibit knowledge of and enthusiasm for NU.

  • Participate in and occasionally develop suitable cultural activities to immerse the students in the culture of the Seattle area.

  • Cultivate an environment that is conducive to social and intellectual growth.

  • Support integration strategy for undergraduate cohorts to impactfully engage with Seattle campus graduate student & alumni communities and local industry partners.

Compensation

  • This is an hourly role with a range of $22-25/hour.

  • Housing during the Summer A and Summer B sessions is included in the compensation package.
