What you will be doing in this role

We areseekinga dedicated and proactive Receptionist to join our Intensive Care Unit team. The Receptionist(internally known as ICU Secretary)will provide essential administrative and communication support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the ICUward.

This role is pivotal inmaintaininga welcoming safe and organised environment for patients visitors and healthcare staff. The position involves a variety of tasks under the direction of the Nursing Unit Managerincluding welcoming visitors data entry keeping our shared areas clean and organised ordering stock and suppliesand will require both collaborative and independent action.

This is a 2-day per week role. You must be available to work either Mon/Fri Mon/Tues orThur/Fri with flexible start and finish timesfor2x 8-hour shifts.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with others takes pride in deliveringaccurate high-quality work and thrives in a patient-centredenvironment. Experience in a healthcare setting is highly valued as itdemonstratesfamiliarity with medical terminology and the dynamics of a clinical space.

  • Previousexperience in an administrative or reception role ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.

  • Strong organisational andadministration skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiencywith office software including MS Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).

  • Ability tomaintaina calm and professionaldemeanourin high-pressure situations.

  • Empathy and excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients families and healthcare professionals.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently whenrequired.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital procedures.

  • A proactive approach tomaintainingthe ICU environment and supporting team needs.
