About the role...
As a Residential Child Care Worker you would work from a childrens home where children and young people aged between 11 years and 17 years live. Residential Child Care Workers eat and sleep at the home with the children and young people and undertake basic household tasks cleaning cooking shopping.
Our children cannot live safely with their parent(s) or family for a variety of reasons such as adverse childhood experience or trauma. Residential Child Care Workers listen and engage our children in 1:1 work around feelings emotions and behaviours and link with other professionals such as social workers schools police and health workers to ensure our childrens needs are met.

While both homes are located in Skelmersdale the role & support they provide is vastly different.
Pause & Reflect
The Pause & Reflect home is a 2-Bedroom Home which will cater to young people aged 11 - 17. These young people will be in urgent need of support & accommodation in the absence of any alternatives. While the placements will be short-term we will need individuals who are committed to providing care during this time and willing to go the extra mile to support the young people during their time at the home.
SPACE Hub
SPACE (Supporting and Preventing Additional Care Experiences) hubs offer a dynamic community-based approach to care and support for children young people and families. This is a new exciting initiative designed to support children young people and families across Lancashire.
Each hub provides four core services:
The SPACE hubs represent a significant step forward in our commitment to early intervention family preservation and care stability.

Due to the outreach nature of the roles at our SPACE Hubs we would require you to have a drivers license and access to your own vehicle. However this is only desirable at our Pause & Reflect Home.
