About the Team:
The Trust Engineering Team at JioHotstar builds secure reliable and fraud-resistant systems that protect our platform digital assets and millions of users daily.
We design and develop scalable solutions to prevent fraud piracy and abuse while ensuring a seamless high-quality streaming experience. Our work spans security infrastructure AI-driven fraud detection and APIs that enable security by default across all Hotstar systems.

About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Trust Engineering Team at JioHotstar youll build the backend systems that keep our platform secure and reliable for millions of users.
Youll design and scale services that detect and mitigate threats in real time strengthen platform integrity and ensure every user enjoys a safe uninterrupted experience. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy tackling complex distributed systems challenges and driving impact through secure high-performance design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable resilient microservices that drive JioStars Trust Engineering
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex backend projectsfrom technical design through deployment monitoring and iteration
- Write high-quality maintainable and well-tested code with a strong focus on fault tolerance and system reliability
- Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term engineering roadmap
- Collaborate with Product Managers Operations and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Champion operational excellence including performance tuning incident management and root cause analysis
- Mentor junior engineers conduct code reviews and technical deep dives and promote a culture of engineering excellence and knowledge sharing
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Strong proficiency in Python or Golang
- Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred AWS Mediaservices experience is a plus) messaging systems (e.g. Kafka) and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments manage priorities and deliver high-impact results
- Passion for mentoring and growing fellow engineers
- Interest in advertising technologies and optimizing systems for user and business outcomes
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in backend development with a focus on building production-grade systems.
