This role supports a Navycustomer in Lexington Park MD.

Job Description and Responsibilities:The Linux/Windows systems administrator (SA) is responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure within its designated area of responsibility (AOR). This role involves a variety of tasks including server maintenance security monitoring and updating system software. The SA must have extensive knowledge of both Linux and Windows server setups as well as a firm understanding of networking protocols and server security mechanisms. Responsibilities include installing server systems configuring software and hardware performing system maintenance checks diagnosing technical issues and providing technical support and guidance. The ideal candidate will also have experience with scripting automation tools and server security and a good knowledge of TCP/IP networks clustering and relevant network protocols.

The position requires a strong technical aptitude problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

Install configure and maintain infrastructure components in a virtualized Linux Environment
Plan and deploy applications in a Linux or Windows environment
Fully manage the installation configuration and troubleshooting of all aspects of Linux servers
Knowledge of Data Storage Technologies such as NAS or SAN
Provide direct mission support in a classified and unclassified Linux desktop and server environment
Within this role the individual will architect install configure and optimize computing systems and networks in a Linux or Windows based environment
Administer troubleshoot and resolve failures and critical alerts on Linux and Windows servers
Write and troubleshoot Windows and Linux Shell Scripts
Backup and restore data to prevent data loss.
Respond to help desk requests and provide technical support to end-users.
Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Basic Requirements:Highschool CSWF acceptable cert (CompTIA Cloud or Sec GICSP GSEC or SSCP); OS cert and 3 years of relevant experience ORBachelors degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity Computer Science Information Systems Data Science or Software Engineering; relevant CSWF cert and OS cert

Security Clearance: Top Secret(must be a US Citizen)

Telework and Travel:On-Site. Approx. 20% Travel is required up to 5 weeks each
