Position Overview
Client Sensor System Engineering team is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design development and evaluation of reference sensors used in products and platforms.
This role will work closely with Hardware Software and System Engineering teams to validate sensor quality and performance across various stages of product development.
This is a fully onsite role in Santa Clara CA.
Key Responsibilities
Sensor Testing & Validation
- Work with multiple sensor types including Camera Radar LiDAR Ultrasonic IMU
- Test sensors across different stages of product development cycles
- Build and operate repeatable well-documented test setups in:
- Lab environments
- Vehicle/track environments
Test Setup & Lab Operations
- Design and fabricate custom fixtures mounts and enclosures
- Perform accurate field measurements with complete test context documentation
- Maintain clean organized lab environments and inventory control
- Properly label equipment tools fixtures and ensure readiness
Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect structured test data including conditions configurations and logs
- Compile clear and timely test reports with:
- Supporting logs/photos
- Charts and data visualizations
- Maintain organized file structures and version control for logs/configurations
- Ensure proper data storage backup and sharing practices
Troubleshooting & Debugging
- Diagnose error messages and identify root causes
- Track script execution to locate failures
- Debug electronics and sensor prototype issues effectively
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical Mechanical Computer Systems or related) or equivalent experience
(Fresh graduates are welcome to apply) - Experience testing and debugging electronics and/or sensor prototypes
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of PC systems
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated proactive and hands-on approach
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced lab and field environment
