We are hiring for the role of Applications Architect. Below are the key details:

Role Overview
This role supports a large-scale financial systems modernization initiative focused on remediation and transition of legacy computing assets. The position requires strong architecture and mainframe expertise to analyze document and upgrade applications in alignment with a new statewide financial management system.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and document existing computing assets including technical specifications and business rules
Troubleshoot and resolve issues through root cause analysis
Provide guidance for remediation and upgrade of legacy assets
Coordinate with business analysts developers product owners and database administrators
Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality and performance
Convert Mainframe FOCUS queries to T-SQL queries
Convert flat file data sources to database tables
Perform knowledge transfer with technical staff

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in multiple IT areas
2 3 years of relevant architecture experience
Advanced knowledge of architecture application systems design and integration
Expertise in Tibco Mainframe FOCUS and JCL
Experience with mainframe batch schedulers and job chaining
Experience working with column delimited flat text file structures

Preferred Skills

Experience with Cool GEN COBOL DB2 z/OS and DB2 Database
Knowledge of SCRUM Framework
Knowledge of financial systems such as ERP
Experience with Entity Relationship Diagrams
Experience documenting and communicating technical requirements

Education
Bachelors Degree in a field of study related to technology or finance. Work experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the degree.
