We are seeking to appoint a VCAA Chief Supervisor to oversee the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments in accordance with the VCAA Examination Manual and College procedures.
About the Role

The VCAA Chief Supervisor holds overall responsibility for the secure and compliant delivery of VCE external assessments. The role involves leading and coordinating examination supervisors managing examination logistics and ensuring all assessments are conducted in line with VCAA policies and procedures.

The position reports to the Head of Learning (1012) and the Deputy Principal Learning and Innovation with ultimate accountability to the Principal.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee compliance with VCAA procedures for the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments
  • Coordinate brief and lead examination supervisors
  • Manage the secure receipt storage distribution and return of examination materials
  • Ensure accurate documentation including attendance rolls seating plans logs and incident reports
  • Maintain an examination environment that supports student wellbeing equity and integrity
  • Respond effectively to emergencies incidents or breaches of examination protocols
Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A sound understanding of VCAA policies and procedures for VCE external assessments
  • Strong organisational and logistical skills with high attention to detail
  • The ability to lead and coordinate a team in a highstakes assessment environment
  • Clear and effective verbal communication skills
  • A strong commitment to assessment security and integrity
  • An understanding of child safety principles and the ability to create a safe and supportive examination environment

Previous experience as a VCAA Chief Examination Supervisor is desirable but not essential.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet VCAA eligibility criteria including:

  • No current employment at the College in another capacity
  • No teaching tutoring or close association with VCE Unit 34 students
  • No conflicts of interest as defined by the VCAA

A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check are required.

Position Details:

  • Casual position
  • The successful applicant must be available for training that occurs in May VCAA external assessment periods in June and October - November 2026 including the GAT oral examinations and the VCE written examination period.
  • Remuneration will be in accordance with Department of Education guidance for VCAA Chief Examination Supervisors (casual hourly rate).
