Our client is a global poultry breeding company specializing in high-performance layer genetics and the Senior Salesperson will serve as a pioneer in Nigeria responsible for building the companys market presence driving sales growth developing strong farmer and distributor relationships and positioning the companys layer breed as a leading choice in the poultry industry.
Job Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
Promote and sell the company layer breeds to breeder farmers
Sustain and accompany Breeder farms to sell commercial layer across Nigerians producers
Develop and implement market entry and expansion strategies aligned with the companys global standards
Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential customers and partners.
Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives.
Act as the primary field representative and brand ambassador for the brand in Nigeria.
Collaborate with the management on administrative performance reporting and operational matters.
2. Market Research & Development
Conduct regular market intelligence research on customer needs competitor activity pricing trends and market dynamics.
Collect and analyse field data on breed performance customer feedback and market requirements.
3. Key Account Management
Manage and grow relationships with key breeder farmers and strategic customers.
Ensure customer satisfaction through regular farm visits follow-ups and performance reviews.
Negotiate contracts pricing and supply terms in line with company policy.
Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
4. Technical Support & Knowledge
Provide technical guidance to breeder farmers and layer producers on the brands breed management performance optimization and best practices.
Support customers with technical knowledge related to breeding rearing egg production bio security and flock health (in collaboration with technical teams where applicable).
Conduct farm evaluations and provide recommendations to improve productivity and profitability.
Liaise with the brands technical experts when advanced technical intervention is required.
Bachelors degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Science Agriculture Veterinary Science Agribusiness or a related field.
Minimum of 35 years proven experience in poultry sales animal feed sales or livestock-related commercial roles.
Valid Nigerian drivers license and willingness to travel extensively.
Experience working with breeder farms or commercial poultry operations is a strong advantage.
Solid understanding of poultry production systems especially layer breeding and egg production.
Knowledge of poultry genetics performance indicators and farm economics.
Practical field experience interacting with poultry farmers and production managers.
Understanding of Nigerian poultry market dynamics distribution channels and regulatory environment.
Strong commercial selling and negotiation skills.
