The Commercial Insurance Account Manager Captive Programs is an experienced insurance professional responsible for servicing and supporting clients participating in group or single-parent captive insurance programs. This role serves as the primary and/or manager of a team that serves as the primary day-to-day contact for captive members coordinating with carriers TPAs captive managers underwriters and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate timely and compliant service addition to client and program management responsibilities this role provides leadership and oversight of the Captive Administration Team ensuring accurate timely and consistent execution of all administrative and servicing functions. The ideal candidate has a strong commercial P&C background understands policy mechanics and is comfortable operating in a consultative relationship-driven environment. Prior experience with captive insurance self-funded or alternative risk arrangements is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Captive Member Management & Management
Serve along with the Admin Team as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned captive program members
Manage ongoing client service needs including policy questions endorsements certificates audits and exposure updates
Educate clients on captive program structure participation requirements and ongoing obligations
Renewals & Program Support
Coordinate annual renewal processes including data collection and submission support
Work with carriers captive managers and underwriters to ensure accurate renewal terms
Review quotes and policy documents for accuracy and alignment with program structure
Assist in preparing renewal summaries proposals and client-facing deliverables
Internal & External Coordination
Act as a liaison between clients carriers TPAs captive managers and internal teams
Support onboarding of new captive members including data gathering and coverage setup
Track and resolve service issues in a timely and professional manner
Management of Captive Administration Team
Provide day-to-day leadership oversight and mentorship to the Captive Administration Team.
Manage workload distribution prioritize tasks and establish service standards.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex captive administration matters.
Develop and continuously improve workflows procedures and controls. Support onboarding training and professional development of team members.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate and complete records within agency management systems and internal tools
Ensure files are properly documented to minimize E&O exposure
Support regulatory and program compliance requirements
Qualifications & Experience
5 years of commercial insurance account management experience
Active Property & Casualty insurance license
Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages including Workers Compensation and casualty lines (Auto General Liability etc.).
Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational communication and client service skills
