Job Summary

The successful candidate will manage Risk Management Compliance and Governance Data Protection and advise on Legal issues and Actions for the Local (UAE) and Regional Market (GCC). Responsibilities also include organizing group communication with external lawyers following up on matters and driving the digitalization of the Legal department.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

  • Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program including manuals policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure the company adheres to domestic and regional government regulations.
  • Ensure that employees follow internal compliance policies.
  • Manage compliance risk to avoid legal and financial penalties for failing to act under internal and external regulations and legislature.
  • Conduct appropriate investigations to identify any suspicious activity.
  • Distribute rights and responsibilities in business and set decision-making rules and procedures.

Risk Management

  • Enhance the due diligence and KYC system to minimize the risk of business transactions.
  • Identify existing and future red flags within the group.

Contracts Agreements & Litigation

  • Revise existing and future agreements and draft new agreements to minimize the cost of the business.
  • Conduct research to minimize the cost of any future business engagement.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with external resources to keep management updated with the right information on ongoing lawsuits.

Workflow Digitalization Reporting & Strategy

  • Develop interdisciplinary coordination between the Legal Finance and Credit Control departments.
  • Develop a digital litigation tracking report with the business system.
  • Create a clear channel internally facilitating external communication.
  • Create the needed reports and strategize accordingly to ensure smooth integration of the business and to raise awareness continuously.
  • Optimize the workflow of the legal department to contain all incoming and outcoming Legal Risk and Compliance group issues.
  • Drive the outcome of increasing corporate performance while minimizing risk and cost.

Qualifications Experience & Skills

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Law or Masters degree in International Business Law.
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of related experience.
  • Specialized Training: AML and Compliance Training along with Legal Training.
  • Core Competencies: Good communication skills.
