Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicatedLegal Manager litigation and contractsresponsible for drafting negotiating structuring and administering all types of contracts under consideration by the business. The successful candidate will advise on the interpretation of contractual documents review contracts during disputes and assist in preparation for dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory & Contract Governance
- Provide legal counsel to regional management across multiple jurisdictions including KSA UAE Egypt Qatar and North Africa.
- Interpret and apply national laws in alignment with overarching corporate policies.
- Support regional headquarters with legal setups license renewals board documentation and regulatory filings.
- Handle the identification of legal risks conduct investigations and manage pre-litigation claims.
- Advise the business on regulatory developments that affect cross-border operations and contract law.
Contract Lifecycle & Legal Support
- Pre-Tender & Tender: Review tender packages (RFQs RFPs) to flag potential legal and contractual risks. Coordinate with the Bids & Proposal team to ensure submissions are qualified and align risk positioning with internal stakeholders during approvals.
- Negotiation & Execution: Draft review and negotiate various contracts including supply service EPC and joint venture agreements. Ensure all agreements comply with corporate risk tolerance legal thresholds and governance protocols. Manage document version control delegation of authority and execution workflows.
- Post-Execution: Provide advice regarding contract variations extensions and close-out documentation. Advocate for and support project teams in maintaining contractual compliance.
Digital Contract Transformation
- Support the rollout and standardization of digital contracting tools such as DocuSign SharePoint SAP Ariba and CLM platforms.
- Assist in the design of workflows approval matrices metadata tagging and contract classification.
- Act as a system advisor and superuser across various business functions while leading template development.
Policies Procedures & Dispute Resolution
- Maintain a solid understanding of standard contract templates policies and limits on legal risk and liability.
- Take ownership of developing refining and updating the Contract and Commercial Manual and Contract Playbook to reflect evolving legal standards and commercial priorities.
- Organize and conduct training sessions and onboarding programs for business stakeholders to ensure consistent application of risk management guidelines.
- Monitor contract performance adapt future corporate documents accordingly and create standard documents for use by the wider legal team.
- Advise the business on potential courses of action and litigation risks when disputes arise and work alongside external counsel to resolve disputes through negotiation or formal proceedings.
- Propose enhancements to streamline governance and improve interaction among Legal Commercial Projects Finance and Operations teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelors degree in Law is required. A Masters degree or MBA in a specific field is preferred.
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of experience handling contract administration and legal matters.
- Knowledge Base: Strong knowledge of GCC commercial law with specific familiarity with Saudi and UAE legal frameworks highly preferred. Must possess an understanding of financial commercial corporate and legal issues. Experience with laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a strong understanding of legal and operational risks in cross-border contracting.
- Effective stakeholder engagement abilities across different business units and cultures.
- Ability to ensure advice and influence align with corporate values and ethics.
