Nurse Tutor

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this post is to develop plan coordinate and evaluate education programmes provided by the Centre of Childrens Nurse Education (Our Ladys Childrens Hospital Crumlin The National Childrens Hospital Tallaght and Temple Street Childrens University Hospital). The Nurse Tutor will liaise with their other colleagues across the three sites in order to provide education and training to all Childrens nurses within the remit of the centre and to provide Childrens nursing related specialist programmes as required nationally.

Essential Criteria:

RCN/RN Child branch with 5 years Post Graduate experience or RGN with 5 years acute paediatric experience

Masters Degree in Education or a subject relevant to the post or a guarantee to pursue same within a 2 year period

Experience of teaching and programme development

Excellent organisational and management skills

Knowledge of developments in childrens nursing services education and quality principles

Thorough knowledge of current professional childrens nursing matters and NMBI standards and guidelines.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Works efficiently as part of a team within CHI and the ONMSD family.

Self-motivated.

Efficient leadership skills.
