Qualifications:
College degree or hours (preferred); High school diploma or GED (required)
Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Initiative and good judgment in working with applicants employees and administrators
Compensation payroll or accounting experience (preferred)
Strong math orientation
Excellent clerical skills with productivity under pressure
Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions
Expertise with computer spreadsheets databases and word processing
Ability to work with confidential material
Detail-oriented
Strong self-starter
Primary Purpose:
Develop and maintain staffing data for operations and temporary workers. Process operations and temporary worker new hires. Provide knowledge to employees and applicants in regards to I-9 and Employment Authorization Documents. Process operations professional paraprofessional and temporary worker terminations and exit reports. Processpersonnel action entries for professional paraprofessional operations and temporary employee vacation worksheets and leave schedules for new hires. Provide service records to terminating employees as requested.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process operations and temporary workers (new hire recommendations changes of assignment and transfers).
- Collaborate with Sr. Staffing/Data Analyst to ensure operations staffing sheets are correct.
- Track assignment spreadsheet new hires transfers and changes of assignment.
- View all recommendations to hire in TalentEd and assign an appropriate workflow for all operations and temporary worker new hires.
- Process operations professional paraprofessional and temporary worker terminations and exit reports.
- Audit files and consistently communicate with employee and other district staff regarding employees working under an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
- Create and generate computer reports for personnel staff and other campuses/departments as requested.
- Maintain staffing sheet for all campuses and departments that have operations and temporary workers.
- Maintain staffing sheet on all operations and temporary workers.
- Audit the files of employees who resign.
- Responsible for inputting maintaining and revising employee MUNIS data.
- Research and professionally respond to questions and concerns of applicants and employees.
- Assist with the organization and implementation of operations and temporary worker new hire meetings.
- Create Personnel Actions for new hires terminations changes of assignment and salary adjustments.
- Process Leave Accrual adjustments on all terminations.
- Prepare vacation worksheets for new hires and existing employees moving to or between vacation-eligible positions.
- Create service records for mid-year changes of assignments.
- Work with Senior Compensation Specialist regarding service record requests for terminating employees.
- Assist employees with compensation-related questions.
- Assist with the Teacher Job Fair and help coordinate the Operations Job Fair.
- Serve as a backup to other human resources staff to process professional terminations and exit reports.
- Assist employment/certification specialists with processing and hiring operations and temporary workers.
- Audit new employee files and follow up with notices regarding missing information/documentation.
- Process and upload files into the applicant or employee database.
- Serve as a backup to other human resources staff to assign the appropriate workflow for paraprofessional and professional new hires.
- Assist with managing employees and former employees in district software programs.
- Work extended hours and on weekends as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer scanner printer copier calculator paper shredder and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. Prolonged use of the computer. Repetitive hand motions. Occasional district wide travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional heavy lifting over 45 lbs.
