- Identify and assess opportunities for PUE interventions (e.g. agro-processing water pumping small-scale manufacturing cold storage) within mini-grid and off-grid projects.
- Lead the design and execution of pilot projects and scale-up initiatives for PUE applications.
- Work closely with local communities SMEs developers and government agencies to promote the uptake of PUE solutions.
- Organise and deliver training workshops and capacity-building programmes for project beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with technology providers NGOs and financial institutions to support PUE adoption.
- Conduct feasibility studies and market assessments for PUE activities including demand analysis technology selection and business model development.
- Support the development of financial models and business plans for PUE enterprises ensuring sustainability and scalability.
- Oversee the implementation of PUE interventions ensuring timely delivery quality standards and achievement of project objectives.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the impact of PUE activities on economic development gender inclusion and energy access.
- Prepare regular reports case studies and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed about emerging trends technologies and best practices in productive use of energy.
- Document lessons learned recommend process improvements and contribute to DREEFs knowledge management initiatives.
- Represent DREEF at industry forums conferences and workshops to share insights and expand the organisations network.
- Bachelors degree in engineering Renewable Energy Economics Business Administration Rural Development
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc MBA or relevant certifications in renewable energy energy access or rural development) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 57 years experience in implementing productive use of energy programmes within distributed renewable energy or rural development projects.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement stakeholder management and capacity building.
- Deep understanding of distributed renewable energy systems and productive use applications (e.g. agriculture agro-processing water supply small-scale industry).
- Ability to design implement and optimise PUE solutions tailored to the needs of rural and peri-urban communities.
- Strong project planning execution and monitoring skills with the ability to manage multiple PUE initiatives concurrently.
- Experience with budgeting resource allocation and reporting on project progress and impact.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills for engaging with local communities SMEs government agencies donors and development partners.
- Ability to facilitate partnerships and foster collaboration to scale PUE adoption and impact.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programmes for end-users technicians and local businesses on PUE technologies and best practices.
