Job Title: Patient Access Representative
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Los Angeles CA 90048
Shift: Day Shift 5x8-Hour Schedule (8:00 AM 5:00 PM)
Notes: May require weekend availability
Position Summary:
- The Patient Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients providing exceptional customer service in person and over the phone. This role is responsible for patient check-in/check-out appointment scheduling insurance verification referral processing and ensuring accurate patient information within the electronic health record system.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Flu vaccination required (no exceptions or declinations)
- Experience working with medical insurance referrals and benefit plans
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
- Ability to read understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of recent experience as a Patient Service Representative
- Experience using CS-Link/Epic
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient relations both in person and by phone
- Greet patients and assist with questions concerns and issue resolution; escalate when appropriate
- Check patients in and out collect co-payments issue receipts and reconcile daily payments
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic
- Schedule appointments and complete patient registration
- Process track and follow up on referrals and authorizations for various insurance plans
- Manage patient and provider correspondence
- Explain clinic policies procedures and services to patients in a clear and professional manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sanitizing the workspace according to department guidelines
