In conjunction with the Director of Nursing the Assistant Director of Nursing will supervise and participate in the delivery of nursing care to the nursing units of the health center. They will also plan and provide technical guidance and instruction to nursing personnel as well as assisting with the oversight of 24-hour management and operation of the health care units.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing provides leadership and coordination plans and directs Nursing Social Services Medical Records Recreational Therapy and Physical Therapy for the complete care of the resident.
- Works in conjunction with Staffing Coordinator and Director of Nursing in establishment of schedules task assignments and allocation of man hours and equipment to ensure compliance with quality nursing care commitments and standards of performance.
- Participate as a member of the Multidisciplinary Care Plan Team to assist in development implementation and evaluation of the care plans according to CMS regulations and policies of WCBR.
- Assist nursing staff in providing resident centered care and work nursing unit as needed.
- Participates in the Nurse-on-Call rotation.
Qualifications
- Ability to complete multiple assignments with multiple deadlines on time and within budget.
- Proficient presentation skills for a diverse group of audiences
- Must understand importance of and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects.
- Maintains strong working relationships with peers inside and outside of the organization to improve communication
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed as a RN or LPN in the State of Virginia
- American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) Certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with supervisory experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Wound certification or obtain within one year.
- Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
