Your work environment at EXP
In this role you will be a part of the Hydrogeology Group -Environmental Services team based in the Markham ONoffice.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting senior professionals in a wide variety of physical hydrogeology projects.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary field and office project team to achieve hydrogeological project objectives for various sites.
- Participate in contaminant hydrogeology projects.
- Work will include dewatering projects well testing environmental impact assessments hydrogeological assessments water supply work and groundwater modeling.
- Conduct investigation programs including drilling test pitting and installation of monitoring / test wells and surface water instrumentation.
- Map and interpret surficial geology and hydrogeology features.
- Conduct field investigations including groundwater investigations groundwater testing slug/bail and pumping tests groundwater/surface water sampling.
- Conduct field programs to map hydrogeological features geological logging drilling supervision and installation of groundwater monitoring wells and surface water instrumentation.
- Data analysis compilation and evaluation of hydraulic conductivity and pumping test results interpretation of groundwater chemical results preparation of hydrographs and assisting in reporting.
- Working knowledge of applicable environmental laws in the Province of Ontario is required.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelors degree in Earth Sciences Geological or Environmental Engineering is essential.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred. Entry level are encouraged to apply.
- Consulting experience is a definite asset.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Familiarity with common groundwater and other relevant software will be a plus (eg: Aqtesolv AquiferTest ArcGIS MODFLOW and ACCESS).
- A valid drivers license with own vehicle and travel throughout GTA and Southern Ontario is required.
- Ability to work independently in the office and in the field.
- Positive attitude teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential.
This job posting is for a new position within our organization.
The salary range for this role is between $50K 66K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location
