Seeking a Scrum Master to support a California Department of Public Health (CDPH) health IT initiative. This RFP-contingent role will lead Agile delivery for health data systems facilitating Scrum ceremonies and guiding teams through full SDLC execution. Anticipated start date is June 2026 pending award.
WORKSITE: Remote within the United States (may require limited California business hours support).
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time MondayFriday business hours aligned to Pacific Time.
PAY RATE: $70.00 -$72.00 per hour

WHAT YOULL DO:
- Lead IT development activities through all phases of the SDLC. Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams supporting system development and maintenance.
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning stand-ups reviews and retrospectives.
- Remove impediments and coach teams on Agile and Scrum best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize backlogs.
- Support delivery of health data systems or health information exchange platforms.
- Provide status reporting risk tracking and delivery metrics to leadership.
WHAT YOULL BRING:
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading IT development through all SDLC phases.
- Minimum 3 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master for system development or maintenance.
- 13 years of experience supporting a health data system or health information exchange.
- Current Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Management Information Systems or a related field.
- NACES credential evaluation required for degrees not issued in English.
