Job Title : Product Development Executive
Function : Product Development
Job Purpose: To conceptualize develop and test innovative products covering all aspects of product development including ingredients composition and specification process design quality systems and meeting statutory requirements
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Conceptualizing innovative and unique products in line with business requirements
2. Evaluate the nutritional characteristics of the product and eliminate gaps in the desired and existing characteristics through ingredient/process improvisation
3. Formulate recipes and define process as well as parameter values
4. Ensure cost optimization in all stages of product development to minimize the overall product cost
5. Evaluate packaging design and define packaging material characteristics and property
6. Evaluate shelf life of products and enhance the same as per requirement by improving ingredient process and packaging design
7. Setting up of Quality systems specifications control parameters and linking sensory with analytical attributes
8. Ensuring product meet all statutory requirements
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of processed foods manufacturing processes.
2. Knowledge of basic food technology / engineering principles in new processes / technology.
3. Knowledge of food ingredients and Food Laws
4. Knowledge of quality systems like HACCP/ISO 9001
Skills:
1. Ability to be innovative
2. Self driven & ability to work relatively independently
3. Detail driven & persistent
4. Ability to collaborate across multiple teams
Educational qualifications :
1. in Food / etc.
2. MSc in Food technology.
