Job Summary

VHIR offers vacant position for a Bioinformatics Genomics Technician in Clinical and Translational Bioinformatics Research Group

Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Graduate degree in Bioinformatics or closely related fields

  • Master in Bioinformatics or closely related fields particularly Genomics or Computational Biology.

  • Fluency in Catalan/Spanish English (business level)

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • Demonstrable knowledge in the processing of RNAseq and scRNAseq data

  • Demonstrable skills in standard bioinformatics techniques and data analysis

  • Good knowledge of Python coding

Desired:
  • Good knowledge of AI tools for classification (NN RF XGBoost)

  • Basic statistics

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for the processing of single-cell RNA-seq data following pipelines developed by the group as well as for implementing and further developing a novel artificial intelligencebased patient classification approach derived from single-cell RNA-seq experiments in breast cancer.

  • The candidate may be required to contribute to research support activities related to the analysis and prediction of missense variants in proteins depending on the priorities of the groups research

  • The candidate will contribute to the proper maintenance and effective operation of the groups computational infrastructure

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 375h/week.

  • Starting date: As soon as possible.

  • Gross annual salary: 23.39380 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)

  • Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
