About the opportunity
The University of Tasmania is looking for a Professional Experience Officer to join their fast-paced team for a parental leave backfill opportunity.
The Professional Experience team is responsible for supporting a wide range of administrative functions in the professional experience placement programs across the schools of Education Social Sciences Creative Arts and Media and Law. The programs bring together students staff and external partners to create meaningful placement experiences.
As our new Professional Experience Officer youll be at the heart of shaping exceptional placement experiences. Youll build strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and external providers to deliver a seamless highquality placement program. Your work will span a diverse mix of responsibilitiesfrom coordinating compliance and specialised placements to navigating complex student matters interpreting policy preparing reports and driving continuous improvement across our processes. Youll be a trusted source of expert advice for staff students and partners guiding them through administrative requirements procedures and regulatory obligations with confidence and clarity.
Our ideal candidate will be a relationshipfocused professional who enjoys building strong networks with internal and external stakeholders. You will be an organised multitasker with strong timemanagement and problem solving skills As well as being a confident communicator who can provide high level advice and support to students academic staff and external placement providers.
What youll do:
- Coordinate timely student placement lifecycle activities across Arts & Society including negotiating complex placements with external stakeholders management of student compliance administering the student assessment process management of individual preparation plans (IPPs) and supporting graduates with teacher registration.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation requirements guidelines privacy confidentiality and compliance obligations.
- Manage and coordinate student and stakeholder escalations in a prompt and professional manner.
- In consultation with the InPlace systems team maintain InPlace to ensure accurate student placement records.
- Regularly review and update communications to ensure students and stakeholders remain updated with current policies and procedures regarding PEP.
What were looking for:
- Completion of a degree or diploma level qualification in a relevant area with relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience or education/training.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise self to ensure timely completion of all tasks manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracy while working in a busy office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative to prioritise solve problems gather relevant information and refer to others where appropriate.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships and professional networks.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the proven capacity to effectively communicate and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously in a team environment.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105665 (pro rata) comprising base salary within the range of $80869 to $90312 plus 17% superannuation.
